My name is Eric Weis (AICP, LCI), and I am a passionate and entrepreneurial bicycle & pedestrian transportation planner with the goals of improved public health, more social equity, an improved economy, higher community livability, and stronger GNH (Gross National Happiness). I have over twenty years of experience, including having been the Director of Greenway Development of the East Coast Greenway Alliance, where I served from 1998 to 2016. At the ECGA, I helped communities from Maine to Florida become more livable through development of biking and walking infrastructure. I served five years as founding chair of the Providence Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Commission, and sit on the Amtrak Bicycle Task Force and the U.S. Bicycle Route System Task Force. I am founder and past director of the biennial New England Bike-Walk Summit, founder and director of the New England Builders' Ball, and was a founding board member of the Rhode Island Bicycle Coalition. I am a certified planner (AICP) and my professional memberships include the Association of Pedestrian and Bicycle Professionals, the Congress for the New Urbanism, and the American Planning Association. I am COGENT.
